Quizzes, tests and worksheets
An AI quiz generator that hands you the answer key too
Tell TeachPal the subject, the year group and how many questions you want. It writes multiple-choice, true-or-false and short-answer questions, each with the right answer and a line on why, and gives you a teacher copy with the key and a student copy without it, to print or take to Word.

Example
One request, and what comes back
You ask
Write ten questions on photosynthesis for Grade 9: six multiple choice, two true or false and two short answer, with an answer key.
Photosynthesis: ten questions
Science · Grade 9 · teacher copy, with answers
- Question 1 · multiple choice
- Which of these does a plant use up in photosynthesis? A) oxygen B) carbon dioxide C) glucose D) starch. Answer: B.
- Question 7 · true or false
- Plants respire only during the day. Answer: false. Plants respire day and night; only photosynthesis needs light.
- Question 9 · short answer
- Why are most leaves green? Answer: chlorophyll reflects green light and absorbs most of the other colours.
The student copy has the same questions, without the answers or TeachPal’s name.
Guide
What makes a good test question
Whether you write them yourself or with AI, these are what separate a well-built paper from a list of questions.
Each question checks one objective
Decide which objective a question tests before you write it. A question that maps to nothing only makes the paper longer.
Wrong answers worth choosing
A good distractor is a mistake pupils actually make, not a throwaway option. That is what lets a multiple-choice question show you where the class went wrong.
From recall to use
Mix questions that ask pupils to remember with ones that ask them to use what they know, and put the easier ones first.
No accidental clues
The right answer should not always be the longest or the most precise, and “all of the above” should be rare. Sharp pupils read those signals.
An answer key that explains
Add a line of explanation to each answer. Marking goes faster, and you can read the explanation out when you go over the paper with the class.
Worksheets practise, quizzes check
A worksheet is for practice: order the questions from easy to hard and add short hints. A quiz is for checking: each question on its own, without help.

From request to printed paper
Say the topic and the question types
Type the subject, the unit, the year group and how many questions of each type you want. You can attach notes or a textbook chapter too.
Edit the questions
The quiz comes back as its own document. Swap a question or rewrite an option; the questions from every saved quiz also collect in your library’s question bank.
Print the student copy
The teacher copy has every answer and the student copy has none. Print either, save it as a PDF or download it as a Word file.
To start with
Requests to start from
Swap in your own subject and year group. If the questions have to come from a particular book or handout, attach it.
- Write twenty multiple-choice questions on integers for Grade 7 maths, with an answer key.
- Make a ten-minute true-or-false quiz on dividing fractions for Year 6.
- Write end-of-term questions from the attached handout and tell me which section each one comes from.
- Make a worksheet on two-digit multiplication, from easy to hard, for pupils who still find it difficult.
- Write five short-answer comprehension questions on this text, for an A2 English class.
Before you rely on it
Before you rely on it
- The quiz format holds three kinds of question: multiple choice with two to six options, true or false, and short answer. Gap-fill works as short answer; matching comes back as text in the chat.
- AI makes mistakes too. Read the questions and the answers once before the test.
- It does not know the exact text of your textbook. If the questions must come from particular pages, upload those pages.
Questions
What teachers ask about this
Is TeachPal’s quiz generator free?
You can start free. Every new account begins on the free plan, and signing up asks for no card. Paid plans raise the limits for teachers who set a lot of quizzes.
Can I print a student copy without the answers?
Yes. Every quiz has two copies: the teacher copy with each answer and its explanation, and a student copy with no answers and nothing about TeachPal on it, ready to print or download as a Word file.
Can it write questions from my own notes or textbook?
Yes. Upload a PDF or Word file and ask from it. TeachPal quotes the passage it used, so you can see where each question came from.
Does it make worksheets too?
Yes. Ask for a practice worksheet the way you would ask for a quiz, with questions from easy to hard, then print the student copy and keep the teacher copy with the answers.
Where do my questions go?
Into your library. The questions from every saved quiz collect in the question bank, where you can pick some to build a new quiz or a test paper; the quizzes they came from stay as they are.
Can it write quizzes in Persian?
Yes. TeachPal works fully in Persian as well as English, right to left, and Persian multiple-choice options are lettered الف، ب، ج، د.
