Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and TeachPal for using the service. The Privacy Policy and the User Guidelines are part of them, so please read all three.

Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using TeachPal, you agree to these terms. If you use TeachPal on behalf of a school or another organisation, you confirm that you’re allowed to accept them for it.

“TeachPal”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of this TeachPal service. “You” means the person who holds the account.

The service

TeachPal is an AI workspace for teachers. You keep your students and classes, chat with an AI assistant that can work from the documents you upload, and save lesson plans, quizzes, notes and other resources to a library. You can also connect AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to your account.

TeachPal is in early development. Features, limits and plans may change, and parts of the service may sometimes be unavailable.

Who can use TeachPal

  • TeachPal is for teachers and other adults who prepare teaching material or support learners.
  • You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live.
  • TeachPal isn’t a tool for students. Don’t let students use your account.

Your account

  • Use your real name and an email address you control.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
  • An account is for one person. Don’t share it or use someone else’s.
  • If you think someone else has used your account, contact support straight away.

Your content

What you put into TeachPal, and what you make with it, stays yours: your students’ records, your notes, your uploads, your conversations and the resources in your library.

You give us permission to store, process and send that content only as far as we need to run the service for you, including sending parts of it to AI providers as the Privacy Policy describes. We don’t claim ownership of it, and we don’t use it to train AI models.

You’re responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, such as textbook pages or a school’s scheme of work, and to record the student details you enter.

Student details

You decide which details about your students to record, and you’re responsible for recording them lawfully and in line with your school’s policies, including any permission you need from the school or from parents or guardians. TeachPal processes these details on your behalf, only to provide the service, as the Privacy Policy explains.

AI output

TeachPal’s answers, plans, quizzes and comments are written by AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or unsuitable, even when they quote one of your documents.

  • Treat everything the AI produces as a draft. Check facts, answer keys, level and tone before you use it with students.
  • You decide what you use in class, and you’re responsible for it.
  • Output may be similar to what other teachers receive, so you can’t claim it as exclusively yours.
  • Don’t rely on AI output alone for decisions about a student’s grades, placement, welfare or discipline.

Plans, credits and limits

  • Every account starts on the Free plan, and signing up asks for no payment details. Paid plans and passes raise limits such as credits, students, classes, storage, uploads and daily messages, as shown on the Plans page.
  • Credits pay for AI work. Each request uses credits according to the work it takes. Your plan adds credits each period, and credit packs you buy don’t expire.
  • When you reach a limit, the feature it covers pauses until the limit resets or you change plan. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
  • A trial of a paid plan is offered once per account and never asks for payment details. When it ends, your account goes back to the Free plan and nothing is charged.
  • We may change plans, prices and limits. A change doesn’t affect an invoice that’s already issued or a period you’ve already paid for.

Payments

  • Prices are shown in Toman. They are set in US dollars and converted at a current exchange rate, so the Toman price can change from day to day. Once an invoice is issued, its price is locked until the invoice’s deadline.
  • You pay by card-to-card transfer. The invoice shows the card number, the card holder and the exact amount. Transfer exactly that amount from any bank card before the deadline, then upload a screenshot, photo or PDF of the receipt and send it for review.
  • Your purchase is applied once an administrator has checked your transfer, usually within a working day. A transfer of a different amount, to a different card or after the deadline may not be matched to your invoice.
  • Nothing renews by itself. A month is paid once and lasts 30 days. A term pass lasts until the end of the term and its exams. A school-year pass lasts until the start of summer, and summer is never charged.
  • Card-to-card transfers are made through the banks. We aren’t responsible for delays or failures at a bank.

Cancelling, pausing and refunds

  • You can cancel or pause your plan at any time from the Plan page. A cancelled plan stays until the end of the month or pass you paid for, and then the Free plan’s limits apply. Everything you’ve made stays, and exporting it stays free.
  • Payments aren’t refunded automatically, and unused time or credits aren’t refunded when you cancel, except where the law requires it.
  • If you transferred money that wasn’t applied, for example because the invoice expired or was cancelled, contact support with the invoice number and your receipt.
  • If your account is deleted while a payment is still being confirmed, the purchase can’t be applied to anything. Contact support about that transfer.

Acceptable use

Follow the User Guidelines. Among other things, they forbid illegal or harmful content, misuse of students’ details, attacks on the service, getting around limits or payments, and sharing material you don’t have the right to share.

Connected AI assistants

When you connect an AI assistant to TeachPal, what it does through that connection counts as done by you, and it spends your credits up to the cap you set for it. You choose what each connection may do, and you can revoke it at any time. The assistant’s platform has its own terms and privacy policy.

Shared links

You can share a lesson plan or quiz by link. Anyone with the link can read it and copy it into their own TeachPal account, so you’re responsible for what you share. When a colleague who opened your link signs up and starts using TeachPal, you may both receive referral credits, up to a monthly limit.

Suspension and ending

You can stop using TeachPal and delete your account at any time from your account settings.

We may limit or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the User Guidelines, puts the service or other people at risk, or is used for fraud. A suspended account can’t sign in. If you think a suspension is a mistake, contact support.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep TeachPal running and your work safe, but we can’t promise the service will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. Export your work regularly if you can’t afford to lose it.

Disclaimers and liability

TeachPal is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about the service beyond those in these terms, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, for data you didn’t export before deleting it, or for decisions made on the basis of AI output.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can’t be limited by agreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using TeachPal after a change, the updated terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, you can stop using TeachPal and delete your account.

If you have a question about these terms, contact TeachPal support.
